Golfer Tiger Woods arrested on DUI in Florida, social media reacts
Legendary golfer Tiger Woods, no stranger to scandal, landed himself in jail early Monday morning.
Police say Woods has been arrested on a DUI charge in Jupiter, Fla. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says on its website that Woods was booked into a county jail around 7 a.m. on Monday. Jail records show Woods had been arrested by police in Jupiter. He was released just before 11 a.m. on his own recognizance. He has been charged under a Driving Under the Influence statute.
No other details were immediately available. Messages left for a Jupiter police spokeswoman were not immediately returned.
“Emotionally,” Fox Sports talker Colin Cowherd said, “I think Tiger Woods is burned out.”
Cowherd said Woods’ story and history makes him wonder if all the current sports speicalization put upon kids is worth it. Woods, he said, is a multi-millionaire who had one of the greatest runs in golf history. But most kids, he said, won’t have anywhere near that type of success.
Social media reacted quickly.
