Charlotte exec named CEO of cleaning products company
Charlotte-based cleaning company Diversey Care, which will be spun off from Sealed Air, has named a new president and CEO.
Ilham Kadri will be responsible for establishing Diversey as a standalone business “and leading it to realize its full potential as a global leader in the hygiene and cleaning industry,” Diversey said in a statement Tuesday.
Sealed Air, well-known as the maker of Bubble Wrap, is expected to complete its sale of Diversey to Bain Capital Private Equity in September. Sealed Air bought Diversey in 2011 and announced its plan to sell it, along with the food hygiene and cleaning business within its food care division, in 2016 for $3.2 billion.
Diversey includes the cleaning products and hygiene portion of Sealed Air, as well as chemicals, floor care mechanics, tools and food safety services, among other areas, the company said.
Kadri, a chemical engineer with a doctorate in polymer reactive extrusion, has served as the president of the Diversey Care business since early 2013. Sealed Air relocated Kadri to Charlotte from the Netherlands in the summer of 2015.
Sealed Air is a Fortune 500 company that opened its new corporate headquarters off Tyvola Road in May. The company employs over 1,110 people locally, and its move from New Jersey marked Charlotte’s largest corporate relocation in history.
