Charlotte-based Jeld-Wen buys California door manufacturer
Charlotte-based door and window manufacturer Jeld-Wen continued its acquisition tear this week with the purchase of LaCantina Doors, a California-based manufacturer of folding and multi-slide door systems.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The LaCantina acquisition marks Jeld-Wen’s fourth in 2015. Most recently, the company bought Karona, a Michigan-based specialty door maker. Weeks before that it also bought Australian manufacturer Aneeta, and before that, Dooria, a Norwegian wooden door maker.
The Wall Street Journal reported in August that Jeld-Wen is planning for a possible initial public offering, citing sources familiar with the deal.
“With the booming popularity of folding and multi-slide door systems, the acquisition gives us additional resources, capacity and a leading brand in this growing segment of the market,” Colin Shaffner, Jeld-Wen’s senior vice president of windows, said in a statement Monday.
Jeld-Wen operates in more than 20 countries with $3.5 billion in annual revenue, half of which comes from outside the U.S.
