Dashcam video shows Walter Scott running from traffic stop (+ video)

SLED on Thursday released the dashcam video that captured former North Charleston Patrolman 1st Class Michael Slager stopping the car driven by Walter Scott on Saturday.

Slager shot and killed Walker about two blocks from the traffic stop. Many are hoping the dashcam will show why Scott got out of his vehicle and why the two left the scene and ended up blocks away.

The State Law Enforcement Division and the FBI are investigating the death of Scott, a 50-year-old African-American man whose death was caught on video by a passerby. Slager's description of what happened starkly contrasts with what's shown on the video.

After seeing the video, law enforcement authorities charged Slager with murder and fired him.
