Riddle me this.

Guess what superhero-like weapons TSA agents confiscated from a passenger’s carry-on bag at Charlotte Douglas International Airport this week?

Three batarangs, those roughly bat-shaped throwing weapons used by Batman.

Batarangs, it turns out, are among items prohibited in carry-ons by the Transportation Security Administration.

No joke.

“Each time we find a dangerous item, the line is slowed down and a passenger that likely had no ill intent ends up with a citation or in some cases is even arrested,” the TSA said on its weekly blog Friday.

Passengers with prohibited weapons in their carry-ons can face a penalty as high as $11,000.

The TSA didn’t say whether the Charlotte passenger was fined.
