A planned TV miniseries remake of the movie “Dirty Dancing” set to film in Asheville is now on hold.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports that production company Lionsgate TV has returned a $4 million incentive grant for the project, saying it won’t be filmed this year.

Originally, the plan was to begin filming in April in locations including Asheville, Cashiers, Winston-Salem and Greensboro.

The $4 million grant is now up for grabs for other film projects, the Citizen-Times reports.
