Charlotte traffic: Sinkhole closes stretch of Beatties Ford Road
Police closed Beatties Ford Road between LaSalle Street and Estelle Street on Wednesday morning due to a sinkhole.
The situation stemmed from a water main break, and crews are replacing about 20 feet of 12-inch drinking water pipe, Charlotte Water spokesman Cam Coley said.
Detours will be in place at least through evening rush hour, Coley said.
