Fire displaces Charlotte family of 6
An early morning fire Wednesday displaced a family of six from their home on Darby Avenue, between Brookshire Boulevard and Rozzelles Ferry Road.

Twenty-three firefighters controlled the blaze in 15 minutes, Capt. Jackie Gilmore of the Charlotte Fire Department said. No one was injured, Gilmore said. Three pet dogs also are safe.

The fire started about 4:20 a.m., and the cause is under investigation. The American Red Cross is helping the family.
