Teenage girl shot in northwest Charlotte

A 15-year-old girl was shot Sunday on Tuckaseegee Road and was in stable condition, police said.

Just before 7 p.m. Sunday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police received a call on the 4800 block of Tuckaseegee Road. Officers found the girl with an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

CMPD said the victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.

The victim and the suspect knew each other, police said. The investigation was continuing, and detectives were canvassing the area just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Sam Hardiman
