Arrest made in south Charlotte homicide
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested a man in connection with Wednesday’s fatal shooting of Terrence White in a south Charlotte home.
Police charged Canell Rayshaun Johnson, 31, of Charlotte, with first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was jailed without bail Thursday on the murder charge.
White and a woman were shot early Wednesday at a home in the 6100 block of Coolbrook Court, off West Tyvola Road. White, 23, was pronounced dead at the home by Medic.
Police said they found the injured woman at a home in the 300 block of Archdale Drive, where she had been taken by an acquaintance. Medic took the woman to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not released her name or age, or said what led to Johnson’s arrest.
