CMPD investigating 2 new allegations against doctor in sex assault cases
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Wednesday that they are investigating allegations from two more people who say they were victimized by a doctor already facing sexual assault charges.
On Monday, police charged Dr. Mario Hernandez, 58, with three counts of sexual assault. The charges accuse him of a trio of assaults against patients during medical exams between May and November in his Arrowood office near South Boulevard.
Hernandez, a family care physician, was released on $42,500 bail. His practice is called Family Medicine Care.
Detectives are reviewing the latest allegations, CMPD said, and no charges have been filed.
Police asked that anyone with information about the case call 911 or the CMPD Sexual Assault Unit. People may also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
