4 arrested for shooting into Rock Hill home twice
Just hours after someone shot into a Rock Hill home early Wednesday, officers caught the alleged suspects again shooting into the same home, police say.
Justin Cunningham, 20, Ronterrius Walls, 26, Charles Gaither, 19 and Jadarius Roberts, 18, were each charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm into a dwelling, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of marijuana, according to a Rock Hill Police Department report. Cunningham faces an additional charge of failure to stop for blue lights.
All four remained in the Rock Hill city jail Thursday under $500,000 bond each, according to jail records.
Police say someone shot into the home on the 400 block of Locust Street just after 3 a.m. Wednesday.
The 43-year-old owner told police she heard two gunshots. Her son was in a folding chair watching television and had bent down to pick up the remote control when he heard the shots, police said.
Officers found a bullet in the arm of the chair where he was sitting, the report states. Police also found two shell casings along the sidewalk in front of the home.
About 10 a.m., officers on patrol in the area heard multiple gunshots and saw a white sedan with multiple occupants firing gunshots at the same home, according to a police report. Officers pursued the vehicle for several blocks until the driver stopped on the 500 block of Whitner Street in front of a set of stop sticks deployed by police.
Officers found a black handgun inside the car, and an item thrown from the car on Barber Street turned out to be about 20 grams of marijuana, police said.
No injuries were reported from either shooting, and investigators are trying to determine a motive.
