6 arrested in Charlotte auto thefts, house break-ins and attempted gun store break-ins
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested six suspects in a series of recent auto thefts, house break-ins and attempted break-ins of businesses, including two gun stores.
Police credit alert residents in the University City area who called 911 to report suspicious persons in a vehicle Wednesday morning.
Police arrested and charged Demarcus Xavier Davis, 16, Rasheed Emanuel Malik Williams, 19, Jamil Malikhakim Davis, 17, two 15-year-old males and a 14-year-old male.
The cases involve six auto thefts, four house break-ins and attempted break-ins at The Gun Outlet on North Tryon Street, Hyatt Guns on Wilkinson Boulevard and a Family Dollar on Wilkinson Boulevard.
The break came when 911 callers reported a suspicious burgundy vehicle on David Jennings Avenue and Gatesmill Avenue in University City, police said.
