Courts fundraiser is Thursday at the Courthouse
Mecklenburg’s 10th annual fundraiser for the state court system is 6 p.m. Thursday at the county courthouse, 832 E. Fourth St.
Sponsored by the Justice Initiatives, a nonprofit support group for the North Carolina courts, the evening gives the public a chance to learn more about the courthouse and justice system. The evening will also include a silent auction on such items as sports memorabilia from local teams, restaurant gift certificates, NASCAR Hall of Fame tickets.
Justice Initiatives was formed in 2004 to help educate and advocate for the court system, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
