Police: Rock Hill man tried to steal machete, 50 DVDs from Walmart

A Rock Hill man admitted to police that he was trying to steal a machete and DVDs from Walmart on Dave Lyle Boulevard.

A loss prevention officer stopped Jerrell Colvin, 24, at about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday after he saw Colvin take a machete and a 50-pack of DVDs and try to leave the store without paying for the items, according to a police report.

After being read his rights, Colvin told police he intended to shoplift the items. He was then arrested and charged with shoplifting.
