Scott Walker returns to SC with Indian Land event Monday
Only two weeks after making a campaign stop in Rock Hill, a contender for the Republican presidential nomination will be returning to the area for another public event.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker will be holding a meet-and-greet at 12:15 p.m. Monday at Sun City Carolina Lakes in Indian Land.
The event is free, but anyone interested in meeting the presidential candidate is encouraged to RSVP on the campaign’s Event Brite page, then show up Monday at The Pavilion, 5074 Grandview Drive.
This will be Walker’s second appearance in the area in as many weeks, after the governor met voters at Rock Hill’s American Legion hall on Aug. 9.
Since the first Republican presidential debate earlier this month, Rock Hill has played host to a visit from U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, a lunchtime chat with U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham and a national security forum at Winthrop University featuring former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
Seventeen Republicans are seeking to build support ahead of February’s South Carolina primary.
