McCrory to appear on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ Sunday
Gov. Pat McCrory will be on NBC’s Meet the Press for an exclusive interview Sunday morning with host Chuck Todd.
The show will come days after McCrory issued an executive order that walked back parts of the controversial House Bill 2, which limits legal protections of LGBT individuals and mandates that transgender people use the bathroom of the sex that appears on their birth certificate.
Backlash from the measure has been fierce: PayPal decided against opening a global operations center in Charlotte, a facility that would have employed 400. At least 13 conventions have pulled out of Charlotte, citing the law.
McCrory, a former Charlotte mayor, has called HB2 a “common sense” measure that affirms a “commitment to privacy.”
Meet the Press airs Sunday mornings on NBC at 9.
