Rodney Moore drops campaign for Congress

Rep. Rodney Moore, a Charlotte Democrat, said Friday he’s suspending his campaign for the 12th Congressional District seat.

Moore was one of seven Democrats running for the seat held by Democratic U.S. Rep. Alma Adams. The primary is June 7.

“I think my energy and influence could be better used in the legislature,” Moore said.

He said he plans to run for a Democratic leadership position in the House.
