The Charlotte 49ers, who’ve made five consecutive appearances in the NCAA men’s soccer tournament, announced their 2016 schedule on Wednesday.
Charlotte will face nine teams that qualified for last season’s NCAA tournament.
“Once again it will be a wonderful challenge for us, and August can't come quick enough,” said Charlotte coach Kevin Langan, who enters his fifth season with the 49ers.
Charlotte begins the season with a pair of exibitions, starting Tuesday, Aug. 16 against visiting Belmont before playing at Elon on Saturday, Aug. 20.

The 49ers, who return all-conference senior midfielder Brandt Bronico, begin regular-season play with four straight home games at Transamerica Field:
▪ Hofstra, a participant in last season’s NCAA tournament, visits Charlotte on Monday, Aug. 29.
▪ Central Florida is at Charlotte on Friday, Sept. 2.
▪ The 49ers will conclude their homestand against 2015 NCAA participants Rutgers (Sept. 4) and Coastal Carolina (Sept. 13)
Charlotte’s Conference USA opener is Saturday, Sept. 17 at Old Dominion.
The 49ers play their final regular season home game against Appalachian State on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and will conclude the regular season at Conference USA rival Marshall on Friday, Nov. 4.
The Conference USA tournament starts Wednesday, Nov. 9 at Marshall.
