Three Charlotte 49ers home games are included in Conference USA’s preliminary television package, the league announced Monday: Temple (CBS Sports Network, Oct. 2), Marshall (Oct. 31) and Texas-San Antonio (Nov. 14). Game time for the Temple game (a Friday) is 7 p.m. The Marshall and UTSA games will be on a Fox Sports network to be determined. Nearly 60 C-USA games will be televised either nationally or regionally.

▪ Three 49ers players have been selected to PhilSteele.com’s preseason all-conference team: Kicker Blake Brewer and receiver Austin Duke are on the third team, while running back Kalif Phillips made fourth team.

▪ As Division I schools head into the two-month recruiting quiet period, the 49ers have verbal commitments from three players from the high school class of 2016: defensive back Ernest Kenty of Birmingham, Ala., quarterback Joe Thompson of Ashburn, Va., and running back Benny LeMay of Butler High.
