Four Mecklenburg County players nominated for U.S. Army All-American football game
Thirteen N.C. high school football players have been nominated for the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
The all-star game, scheduled for Jan. 7 in San Antonio, is nationally televised on NBC and brings together a collection of the nation’s top senior talent.
Area nominees include Cuthbertson wide receiver J.T. Cauthen, Mallard Creek defensive linemen Grant Gibson, T.J. Moore and wide receiver Ryan Jones, South Meck defensive lineman Jake Lawler and Concord linebacker Hamsah Nasirildeen. Jones, Lawler and Cauthen have committed to North Carolina. Gibson has committed to N.C. State.
