Indians’ Williams allows 3 hits, blanks Knights
Trevor Williams allowed just three hits over eight innings, leading the Indianapolis Indians over the Charlotte Knights in a 1-0 victory Thursday n ight at Victory Field.
Williams (6-4) picked up the win after he struck out five.

The Knights were limited to a two-out single by Jerry Sands singles in the second inning, a one-out single by Jason Coats during the fourth and a Jake Peter single with two outs in the eighth.
The eighth inning was the only time Charlotte threatened, getting Peter to third after an errant pickoff attempt by Williams. The threat stopped there, however, because Williams got Danny Muno on a called third strike.
Indianapolis improved to 3-1 against Charlotte this season. The teams will continute the four-game series with a 7:15 p.m. contest Friday.
