Matchup to Watch
Al Jefferson vs. DeMarcus Cousins: Both represent something that is surprisingly hard to find these days in the NBA: true low-post scoring from the center. How much will each team double-team the other?
Observations
▪ The Hornets looked exhausted during Monday’s blowout loss to the Washington Wizards. This was their eighth game in 13 days. The team had Tuesday off from practice.
▪ The Kings hired veteran coach George Karl last month, He took over at the All-Star break, which gave him several practices to acquaint himself with the team, and vice versa.
Tap-ins
▪ Hornets power forward Cody Zeller sprained his right shoulder during the first half of Monday’s game and is unlikely to play.
▪ The Hornets might get back Kemba Walker. He has missed the past six weeks after knee surgery.
Did you know?
Karl has the most regular-season victories among active NBA coaches with 986. He trails six who are no longer coaching in the NBA, topped by Don Nelson with 1,335.
