Matchup to Watch

Kemba Walker vs. George Hill: Particularly with center Al Jefferson hurting, Walker’s performance is essential to any chance the Hornets have of reaching the playoffs.

Observations

▪ The Pacers continue to play without Paul George, recovering from a fractured leg over the summer. There was some expectation George could play in the latter stages of the season.

▪ The Pacers have been in somewhat a nosedive of late, losing nine of their past 11 games.

Tap-ins

▪ The Hornets didn’t practice Thursday. Coach Steve Clifford said Wednesday he did not anticipate power forward Cody Zeller (shoulder sprain), who grew up in Indiana, to play Friday.

▪ The Hornets and Pacers are first and second in the NBA this season in defensive-rebound percentage, a statistic Clifford greatly values.

Did you know?

Coach Frank Vogel has 199 victories with the Pacers. He has passed Larry Brown (190) for most wins in Pacers NBA history.
