Former Charlotte Hornets center Bismack Biyombo has reached a deal to join the Toronto Raptors, Yahoo Sports reported on Saturday.

The two-year deal with the Raptors is worth $6 million, according to the report from Adrian Wojnarowski.

Biyombo, 22, played in Charlotte from 2011 until last season. But the Hornets did not extend a qualifying offer to him, which would have restricted Biyombo’s free agency. The 6-9 center played in 64 games last season.

As word spread of the reported Raptors deal, many were looking online for information about Biyombo. Among the finds: an Observer story about Biyombo treating a homeless man to a dinner in Chicago during a Hornets road game there in February. On Saturday, the four-month-old story had received more than 3,800 views by 10 p.m.
