Forward Marvin Williams, one of five unrestricted free agents in the Charlotte Hornets’ rotation, said he wants to re-sign with the team.

“No question I want to return,” Williams, who will be an NBA free agent this summer, said Monday. “Obviously in free agency anything can happen and there is a business side as well, but I want it known I do want to return and play with these guys and play for coach (Steve) Clifford again.

Williams was among several Hornets who mentioned the roster’s strong chemistry this season.

“This was probably the most fun year of my career. Very fun to play with and be around.,” Williams said of his teammates.

“Any time you can keep a group of guys together for two, three or four years, you can do some really good things. Sometimes there’s so much change from season to season that you never really get steady improvement.”
