Carolina Panthers’ playoff opponent set: Seattle coming to Charlotte
For the second straight postseason, the Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers will face off in a win-or-go-home game.
The Seahawks survived in Minneapolis, beating the Vikings 10-9 after a missed chip-shot field goal in the final seconds to advance to the divisional round against the No. 1 seed Panthers.
The game will be played at Bank of America Stadium at 1 p.m. Jan. 17 and will be broadcast on FOX.
The Panthers (15-1) have faced the Seahawks five other times since 2012. Carolina has won only once, beating the Seahawks 27-23 in Week 6 of this year.
Seattle beat Carolina 31-17 in last year’s postseason in Seattle en route to going to its second consecutive Super Bowl.
The Panthers have never before been the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs.
Carolina has home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs leading up to Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, Calif.
