Ballantyne Corporate Park joins food drive contest against Denver

Ballantyne Corporate Park is throwing its support behind Charlotte nonprofits competing with Denver to see which can collect the most donated food for charity by the end of Super Bowl 50 Sunday.

The Charlotte food drive – coordinated by the Mecklenburg County Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the United Methodist Church – coincides with the city’s annual Scouting for Food program Saturday. During Scouting for Food, troops roam the city, collecting food left in bags on doorsteps.

Nonperishable food collected during the drive in Charlotte goes to help Loaves & Fishes pantries for the needy.

Ballantyne Corporate Park is collecting donations in its building lobbies through noon Friday. Suggestions include soups, canned vegetables, peanut butter, canned meat, rice, dried beans, etc.

Online donations are also welcome at https://54671.thankyou4caring.org/.

Boy Scout Pack and Troop 119 of the South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church are helping collect and count donations in Ballantyne Corporate Park.
