You complained, they listened: Bourbon N Burgers is changing its name back to ‘Ed’s Tavern’
Ed’s Tavern is back.
In March, the popular Dilworth bar re-branded and changed its name to Bourbon N Burgers, and apparently that didn’t sit too well with customers.
“After changing the name, our patrons let us know their disappointment, so bringing back Ed’s Tavern was an easy decision to make,” read a statement Monday from Lance and Tina Blundell, who bought Ed’s in 2014.
Since taking over, the Blundells have been gradually implementing changes at Ed’s that include an updated menu and a new 3,000 square-foot patio with a bar and flat-screen TVs, new booths, a new 32-handle draft beer system, new bathrooms and more. Mike Morelli, the former general manager of All America Pub, took over as general manager at Ed’s late last year.
“We made all the improvements to make the place more welcoming and friendly, with better food, better service and a better atmosphere. When our customers let us know they wanted Ed’s Tavern back, we had to listen to them,” the Blundells said.
The name change back to Ed’s is effective May 1. The tavern’s website, along with all of its social media accounts and Facebook page, will be re-launched this week, the Blundells said.
Ed’s is at 2200 Park Road, at the corner of Ideal Way near Food Lion. The bar is known for its menu of tavern fare and draft beers, as well as its music trivia on Wednesday nights.
