Here are 15 new murals in Charlotte for the ‘gram

With paint and determination, 16 local, national and international artists made Charlotte just a little brighter during this year’s Talking Walls Festival, creating 15 new murals that now adorn our city’s walls and buildings.

Painters from Colombia, Ecuador, Germany and even Portugal traveled to contribute to the October mural festival.

“These artists share the same values as our city,” Mike Wirth, community director of Talking Walls Charlotte told CharlotteFive. “They actually cared about what was going up on the walls.”

Wirth said Charlotte showed up in a major way. More people were out and about supporting artists, and bike and run clubs added the event to their routes. Members of Charlotte’s art scene stepped up, as well. Popular artist Osiris Rain even took it upon himself to bring artists food and supplies.

“It made everything come together,” Wirth said.
