Charleston nightclub Trio opens in Charlotte this weekend with EDMA Mashup of the Year winner
Popular Charleston EDM nightclub and lounge Trio will celebrate its grand opening weekend in Charlotte’s South End on Friday and Saturday, May 19-20.
With the expansion, the electronic dance music venue’s owner Eric Gussin intends to curate an international music destination in the Queen City. “After spending a lot of time in Charlotte, I really fell in love with the city and its energy,” Gussin said in a statement.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- 7 dance-floor VIP tables for table service,
- 9 elevated mezzanine VIP tables overlooking the dance floor,
- 2,000+-square-foot dance floor with LED video throughout,
- An outdoor space.
In addition to VIP table service, signature offerings include private events, bachelor and bachelorette parties and birthday parties.
Trio has partnered with Charlotte-based Loud Crowd, an extension of Auris Presents, for talent sourcing. The team plans to book both emerging and nationally recognized artists at the South End nightclub.
“With a direct line from Charleston to Charlotte, we’re able to create and offer more opportunities for rising talent,” Gussin said. “This not only means greater access for music fans and followers, but also allows our artists to expand outside of their home city and get exposure in new markets.”
Opening weekend will host the following:
- Friday, May 19, starting at 9 p.m.: EDMA’s Mashup of the Year winner Angelo The Kid, with Trio Residents DJ Rivas and DJ Soto.
- Saturday, May 20, starting at 9 p.m.: Sickick.
