New South End beer garden will have 400 taps, a 2-story tree in its cocktail bar
Charlotte Beer Garden will open around late February with 400 taps — the largest draft beer selection in the world.
Be decisive at the bar: Akin to a Netflix endless scroll, this could be a problem for beer fans who never know what to try next.
Charlotte Beer Garden’s sister, Raleigh Beer Garden, holds three Guinness World Records: most different beer brands on draft tap (203), most varieties of beer on draft tap (369), and largest tap takeover (177 with Wicked Weed).
Charlotte Beer Garden will be bigger.
Not just beer, but a cocktail bar with a tree
Craft cocktail fans will want to check out the ground-floor bar with a two-story atrium featuring a towering North Carolina black walnut tree.
What’s on the menu?
The Charlotte location’s menu is still being finalized, but Raleigh Beer Garden’s menu includes bar bites (maple bourbon bacon, local beer cheese dip, shrimp ceviche, wings and trays that serve 2-4 people (dips, cheeses and meats).
Mains include burgers and sandwiches, pizza, salads and platters (brisket, shrimp and black bean).
By the numbers
Here’s what you can expect:
- 3 levels
- 4 bars
- 150-160 local taps on main level
- 200 taps for beers outside of North Carolina on second level
- 25-30 taps on rooftop bar
- 400 total taps
