Read a book, get a workout, eat some ramen: Everything to know about Camp North End
Charlotte is known for its innovative spirit — a place for entrepreneurs and new experiences. But sometimes the city’s pursuit of the new overshadows the old. ATCO Properties and Management undertook a project to change that climate and pave the way for an experience that blends the old and the new.
Enter Camp North End: an assemblage of historic buildings that are now part of an adaptive reuse project to preserve the character of former industrial factories.
The 76-acre site was once home to Ford, the U.S. Army and Eckerd, among others, now houses local tenants across four key locations: the Boileryard, Crossroads, Mount and Keswick districts You can learn more about the significance of each location from our guide to Camp North End.
The historic spaces are already occupied by a number of impressive tenants and will soon be joined by more popular local brands. The site is a haven for community and entertainment, which led bloc. founder Katie Dixon to relocate the popular fitness studio.
The lease renewal at the current bloc. location came faster than anticipated, so the popular fitness brand took action to relocate to a larger space in Camp North End.
From February to March, the fitness studio will offer a modified schedule at Camp North End for $10 indoor and outdoor workouts. It’s anticipating a full move-in by April. Look forward to outdoor “bloc parties” with workshops, dance raves and festivals with local brands.
Much like bloc., other local businesses see the value in the Camp North End location, and will soon open retail and food options for Charlotteans to enjoy.
