Mama Ricotta’s has reopened after renovations. Here’s what you need to know.
Mama Ricotta’s has now reopened its midtown Charlotte restaurant after a three week-closure to undergo renovations.
The Charlotte Classic Eats spot now has a bigger dining room, new private dining, better takeout infrastructure and a bigger kitchen.
“After 30 years in business, we thought it was time for not only a refresh, but an expansion,” owner Frank Scibelli said in a statement. “We appreciate the support and patience of our team and guests as we temporarily pause lunch and dinner services for three weeks. We look forward to welcoming everyone in our new space to continue creating memories over delicious pasta, pizza, and wine, just in time for the holiday season.”
The notable changes include:
- The new infrastructure will help to accommodate the increase in takeout orders.
- A new fresh pasta machine from Italy will be added to the kitchen, led by chef Tom Dyrness, as well as more ovens and a space for the pastry team.
- Pastry chef Anika Rucker’s team will have a dedicated area for pastries and bread creation.
It’s time: The kitchen has not changed since Mama Ricotta’s took over the restaurant space in 2002.
And don’t worry, the menu will not change a bit. When the space reopens, all of your old favorite meals will be right where you left them.
Peadon Finein Architecture, PLLC and Gais Construction orchestrated the buildout, with Rosarae Drury from Rosarae Creates doing interior design.
