A beloved local pizza spot is back open in the Lake Norman area.

Pie in the Sky Pizza is now open for business in a new location in downtown Mooresville.

The restaurant, which opened in 1986, closed last year due to building renovations, CharlotteFive previously reported. During that time, the team took a mobile oven around to pop-up events and gatherings in the area. Now, Pie in the Sky Pizza is back in a new and bigger space a few blocks away from its original location.

“It’s our dream spot,” Daniel Whitener, who is teaming up with his sister, Ashley Eggert, to take over management duties from their father, Tim Whitener, previously said. “We love the retro look of the building and the funky, wavy awning on the roof. It’s awesome architecture. And we can keep that nostalgic feeling going on the inside, too.”

Aside from the classic pizza, subs, salads and lasagna, Pie in the Sky is also rolling out new appetizers and entrees, including calzones, meatballs with ricotta, and mac and cheese bites.

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Tuesdays-Sunday for dine-in, carry-out and delivery.
