Tacos Rick-O has a new concept coming to Charlotte, along with new food truck posts
Tacos Rick-O, a food truck staple that has gained a faithful following, has closed up shop at Hoppin’ South End and is on to new things, including plans to serve customers at Charlotte Premium Outlets and SouthPark Mall.
“BIG NEWS CHARLOTTE We are expanding our brand and bringing two new different and unique concepts to the Queen City! While we shift our focus on to those two projects, we will be stopping the operations at the Hoppin South End location! Last day will be March 10, 2024 so make sure you come out and get some Tacos Rick-O!,” an early March Instagram post said.
“Thank you for all the love and support you guys have shown over the past 8.5 years!”
The social media notice was posted in collaboration with a new account — Ricko’s Kitchen — with a promise that it’s coming soon. The restaurant has been in the works for quite some time, enticing eager fans of owner Ricky Ortiz’ food, which showcases his Mexican heritage.
But you can take some solace — the food truck isn’t disappearing for good, either.
“No worries, we are running the food truck on a limited schedule and bringing it to a city near you,” a graphic on the post added.
On Friday, March 22, a new Instagram post shared the news that regular food truck stops were on the way at two of Charlotte’s largest shopping areas.
“Hola, amigos! We have partnered with @simonpropertygroup to bring our food truck to the Charlotte Premium Outlets and SouthPark Mall! Be on the lookout for our new schedule!,” the post said.
