A new steakhouse from a familiar restaurant team is now open in Lake Norman
A new fine dining restaurant offering steak and seafood is now open in Denver, coming to you from a familiar name in the Lake Norman food and beverage community.
The team behind Joey’s Fine Food & Pizza — which has restaurants in Denver and Sherills Ford — is behind 16 Prime Steak & Seafood in the same shopping center where its Denver eatery is located. Dining began Monday, Nov. 18.
“Me and my wife, Agnes, have opened up about a dozen stores in the past in the Charlotte area and Michigan. This is our last gig. We are passing the torch over to our son, Joseph, and [a] dedicated crew that we had with us the past 12 years,” owner Joe Acovski told CharlotteFive.
The restaurant takes the place of the former Pomodoro’s Italian restaurant, next door to Citrus the Diner in the Natalie Commons Plaza.
“This community has proven to be so supportive and loyal. We cannot wait to serve you guys,” a post about 16 Prime said on the Joey’s Fine Food Facebook page before the opening.
At 16 Prime, the team is promising a “fine selection” of upscale steaks and seafood, along with wine and handcrafted cocktails.
The appetizer menu includes tuna tartare, Mediterranean octopus and filet sliders, and lobster bisque and braised beet salad are among the second course offerings.
Outside of its premium steaks, entree standouts include Chilean sea bass, scallops and cauliflower steak. Selections for sides to pair with them are roasted asparagus, creamed spinach, smoked gouda mac and cheese, jalapeno creamed corn and more.
