Blue Door, a new cocktail bar from the team behind Trio nightclub, is opening its doors this week in Charlotte’s South End.

You can start checking out what Blue Door has to offer when its grand opening begins Friday, Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. in the former Bardo restaurant space.

Look for a rotating cocktail menu in an intimate but welcoming setting that’s specially designed to “encourage meaningful connections and unforgettable nights.”

“We wanted to create a place where we’d want to hang out —somewhere comfortable yet exciting, where you can relax and still have a great night out,” Eric Gussin, who co-founded the place with Kate Gussin, said in a news release.

Mike Guzmán — named in the U.S. Bartenders Guild’s Top 30 World Class U.S. Bartenders — will lead the cocktail program at Blue Door as the creative director/operator.

The Gussins aim to provide an elevated cocktail experience, “focusing on quality, sustainability and inclusivity,” where you can also host private events or chef-led dinners.

“We’ve been a part of the Charlotte hospitality scene for a while now, and we saw a gap — places either felt too stiff or too chaotic,” Eric Gussin said.

“With Blue Door, we’re creating a space where our guests can feel at home, whether they’re grabbing drinks with friends or looking for an intimate event space.”
