Monroe taqueria — with 12 varieties of tacos — will open second location in Charlotte.

Breakfast burritos, caldos, combination platters and — best of all — authentic tacos — are making their way to Charlotte’s Sardis Crossing shopping center at Sardis and Monroe roads in the near future.

A specific opening date has not yet been released for the new Chuyita’s Fresh Mexican Food & Bar. It will be the second restaurant from the restaurant team, which also owns Taqueria Chuyita in Monroe.

Among some of the customer favorites the restaurant touts are its fajitas and carne asada, along with seafood dishes such as Salmón a la Parrila.

But its tacos steal the show, with 12 varieties to choose from. The selections — each served with soft corn tortillas, and topped with cilantro and onions — include lengua, chorizo and barbacoa, plus its namesake Tacos Chuyita with chorizo, chicken and nopales.

Chuyitas offers aguas frescas to pair with your meal, along with other traditional Mexican drinks including margaritas and micheladas.
