A new cocktail-focused restaurant with international flavors is now open in Mooresville
A new cocktail-focused spot from the owners behind some of Lake Norman’s most prominent Latin restaurants is now open in Mooresville.
Paloma, located in the Williamson Road space formerly occupied by Sabor Latin Grill, is owned by Valentino Panizzut and Heriberto Chavez. The pair also own Havana 33 Cuban restaurant and Burrito Loco in Mooresville, along with sister concept Juan Loco in Cornelius and Verde in Huntersville.
“It will be totally different,” Panizzut previously told CharlotteFive. At Paloma, “We’re calling it small bites and craft cocktails with a Latin flair,” he said.
Expect a menu with starters, flatbreads and sandwiches, and a few curated entrees: salmon, steak, pasta and shrimp and grits.
Small bites with international flavors are the star, though, with crab fritters, saffron meatballs, Korean pork belly bao buns and Paloma fries tossed with cilantro, Tajin and Cotija cheese among the options to snack on. Charcuterie lovers may enjoy the Tapas Tradicional, featuring local cured meats, cheeses, olives and garnishes.
Brunch will come on board soon. Sweet bites such as Paloma Pancakes with vanilla-mandarin mousse, citrus supremes and passionfruit syrup stand out on the menu alongside Almond Crunch French Toast and the Paloma Fruit Platter.
Savory selections will include the Maple-Bourbon Pork Belly Skillet — complete with peppers, onions and hash brown potatoes — and the Paloma Benedict with 9-grain bread, Serrano ham, arugula, poached eggs and Romesco cream.
The beverage program at Paloma offers just as many choices.
In the dining room and at the bar, expect specialty cocktails with craft-made syrups. There are a variety of Palomas to choose from, of course, as well as an LKN Colada, Imperial Coconut Mojito and Oaxaca Old Fashioned.
Other beverage options include mocktails, beer and wine, plus Latin-style Cafe con Leche and Cortadito coffees.
