A new game-day pub with elevated food, cocktails is on its way to uptown Charlotte
Fans of The Pub At Gateway in uptown Charlotte have a new game-day hangout with late-night bites to look forward to when the ownership team opens The Pub At Uptown in March.
Owners Eddie Romero and Mike Ivie, who owned The Pub At Gateway for 17 years, plan to offer the same kind of welcoming atmosphere in their new venture. But they’ve also planned for a few changes, including an upgraded menu, premium cocktails and a wider selection of high-end bourbons.
Sitting fairly close to Truist Field and Bank of America Stadium, the pub plans a heavy focus on sports fans — especially for those who love soccer. It’s partnering with Penya Blaugrana Charlotte to be the official home pub for every Barcelona game.
Patrons will be able to grab a seat in the 2,700-square-foot dining room, filled with 14 TVs and a dartboard. There will even be a touch of nostalgia with the original jukebox from The Pub At Gateway.
For those who prefer dining al fresco, there will also be a 1,000-square foot patio.
On the menu, diners will find old favorites including gouda mac ‘n cheese bites, house-made hummus with pita bread and burgers made with Angus beef. You’ll also find salads, wraps other game-day friendly foods, with the kitchen open until the pub closes at 2 a.m.
Carry-out will be offered via online ordering, and brunch is also a possibility in the future.
“Through the ups, downs and a global pandemic, our customers and staff have supported us and shown us unwavering loyalty. We wanted to bring back everything people loved about The Pub At Gateway but take it up a notch,” Romero said in a news release.
The Pub At Uptown will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., with free ground-level parking on non-game days from the Graham Street parking deck entrance.
