Get a preview of Harriet’s Hamburgers at Optimist Hall — and a chance to win burgers
Harriet’s Hamburgers will preview its September opening with a debut of its hamburger recipe July 1, and one customer will win free hamburgers for a year.
From 4-7 p.m. Harriet’s Burgers will fulfill 100 online orders, available for pickup at Optimist Hall’s main courtyard. To participate, customers can sign up for its rewards program, Harriet’s Hero Club. Members will receive a link with instructions for ordering on June 30.
Only one customer will find a golden lightning bolt in their to-go hamburger bag and win free hamburgers for a year from Harriet’s, which is a collaboration between grilled cheese experts Papi Queso and The Plaid Penguin, a strategic communications, branding and design agency.
“We’re eager for our hometown to try our version of America’s Favorite Sandwich, and we thought what better way to debut our hamburger than with a side of good old Americana ‘golden ticket’ fun,” Joe Haubenhofer, founder of The Plaid Penguin, said in a statement.
Harriet’s Hamburger recipe features a patty made with Black Angus short rib, brisket and chuck cooked to “medium right.” The sandwich is topped with white American cheese, house-made pickles, red onions and a signature sweet and tangy sauce on a brioche bun.
“We’ve been researching, testing and perfecting our hamburger build, and we think we’ve arrived at the most ‘perfect’ version of a hamburger that we can possibly serve,” Brian Stockholm, founder of Papi Queso, in the statement.
The Harriet’s Hamburgers stall at Optimist Hall is expected to open on Labor Day.
