The fireworks will ring out this Saturday, but beyond the flashing colors in the sky, July Fourth celebrations will be far from normal this year.

One tried-and-true way to celebrate that can accommodate social distancing: a good meal.

We rounded up a handful of Charlotte spots, including new restaurants that recently opened amid COVID-19, to find a meal that will feel like a celebration.

(1) Camp North End

1824 Statesville Ave.

Stop by the new alfresco food stalls at Camp North End to grab some food to take home. The three new food stalls offer unique tastes, from ramen at Saru by Bow Ramen, farm-to-table at Bleu Barn Bistro or pupusas and arepas at La Caseta.

La Casetas’ pupusa is a thick corn tortilla stuffed with cheese and refried beans, curtido slaw and warm tomato sauce. The price is $2.95 each.

(2) The Capital Grille

201 N. Tryon St.

The Capital Grille is offering Steak Grille boxes for customers to bring the dining experience home. Each box has four uncooked steaks and comes with The Capital Grille’s signature steak sauce and seasoning. Pair your meal with sides of mashed potatoes or lobster mac and cheese.

(3) Eddie V’s

101 S. Tryon St.

Eddie V’s is offering 4th of July Marketplace boxes, which serve four people or more. The boxes have a variety of steaks and lobster to grill at home, offering combinations of filet mignon, lobster and ribeye. Each box comes with your choice of sides such as truffled mac and cheese or crab fried rice. Plus, each box comes with Eddie V’s seasoning and sparklers to bring the celebration home.

(4) Edge City Brewery

6209 Old Post Road, Suite 109

NOTE — CLOSED ON JULY 4, SO PLAN AHEAD: The new brewery, which opened during COVID-19, is offering 32 oz. growlers to-go — but plan ahead and pick up on July 3 since it will be closed on Saturday. Bring the brewery and hand-crafted beer home for your socially-distanced Fourth of July celebration.

Order a family dinner for Independence Day from Fin and Fino and reheat at home. Order a cans and clams kit, which features two pounds of littleneck clams, sides dishes and beer — both for cooking and consuming. Or get a seafood spread with a seafood boil or a lobster & shrimp roll box. Each meal feeds two or three people. Kits can be picked up Friday or Saturday anytime after 4:45 p.m.
