A sweet new Charlotte shop features yeast-raised, handmade doughnuts
MoRA got a little bit sweeter on Monday morning.
As of 6:30 a.m, the new Charlotte location of OMG Donuts & Coffee is now open. The shop features California-style yeast doughnuts and apple fritters. Its original location is in Concord, and its new Southeast Charlotte bakery is in MoRA at Meridian Place, right next to Edge City Brewery.
Coffee drinks will include both Pure Intentions coffee and espresso drinks and Cafe du Monde, the New Orleans-famous chicory coffee.
“Coffee and doughnuts is a pair — it goes together. It’s a staple in our culture,” co-owner Mia Chang told CharlotteFive in April.
Show up hungry, as these doughnuts are bigger than what you’re used to: 3.5” to 4” across.
OMG’s new customers, some of them in walking distance, responded with OMG-level excitement when the MoRA neighborhood association shared the news. “Omg (no pun intended) but so excited bc I was driving out to Concord just to grab their donuts, fritters and brownies. So, so good....and addictive,” @qcsocial704 commented on CharlotteFive’s Instagram post.
“When we searched for a location, we knew that MoRA would be a perfect home,” OMG stated recently.
