A cafe with ‘the best brunch I’ve ever had’ is closing this weekend
A Huntersville restaurant with what one fan called “the best brunch I’ve ever had” is saying goodbye — for now.
Cafe 100, known for its stuffed French toast, lobster mac & cheese and cozy porch dining, will close after brunch on Sunday, Jan. 23. After a two-month renovation, a name change and a new menu, the restaurant will reopen, Frankie Cieho of Cafe 100 told CharlotteFive on Friday afternoon via phone.
The staff will remain, Cieho said.
“Last Call for Cafe 100! Come join us for our final weekend as this amazing labor of love and journey with family and friends comes to an end,” read a social media post on the restaurant’s Facebook page on Thursday. “Cafe 100 will be closing AFTER Sunday brunch this weekend. Come and enjoy one last half price bottle of wine, a cafe sunrise (or two), a crab cake benedict, or whatever your favorite may be.”
The restaurant served breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner in a cozy house that had been converted to a cafe. Its outdoor dining served as the best seats in the house, though. The porch seating overflowed into a garden-style setting with seating under a tent. Front-yard seating surrounded a fire pit, perfect for catching up with friends before or after dinner.
Customers flocked to the Facebook post to leave memories of meals enjoyed at Cafe 100. “The best breakfast I’ve ever had — love this restaurant and so sad to hear this,” wrote Natalie Jovanovic.
“This breaks our hearts! Cafe 100 was our favorite weekend ritual- you all (and the amazing food/drinks) will be missed tremendously! We will see you this weekend for one last time,” Brittany Eller said.
