There’s a new restaurant now open in the former Civetta space in Charlotte
There’s a new spot to grab a drink and nosh in StoneCrest at Piper Glen — Tap & Vine.
The wine bar and restaurant that got its start in the Charlotte area in Indian Trail has taken over the former Civetta Italian Kitchen + Bar space, according to National Restaurant Properties and Bread N Butter Restaurant Strategies. Charlotte Business Journal first reported the news.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Civetta had struggled to bring diners in the door, Unpretentious Palate reported.
The new restaurant is tucked between True Crafted Pizza and Dish it Out pottery painting studio in the shopping center, offering an extensive list of wines by the glass.
Its menu includes shareable appetizers such as charcuterie and dips, along with salads, burgers and tacos. Alfredo pasta, Denver Cut Steak and Bourbon Brown Sugar Glazed Salmon are among the heartier entrees available.
The Indian Land location hosts Sunday brunch, as well as events including karaoke, wine tastings and dancing with live music and DJs.
Scott Lee and Bill Harrill of National Restaurant Properties brokered the transaction with Charlotte-area car dealership owner Joe Maus, who also owns the Charlotte Thunder arena football team, along with Matthews Wine Cellar and Tap & Vine.
