The Waterman Fish Bar is opening its Lake Norman location. Here’s what we know

The Waterman Fish Bar’s second location, in Lake Norman, is slated to open on Thursday, April 7 at 11 a.m.

The restaurant isn’t lakeside — it’s right next to 131 Main’s Cornelius location. But it promises “nautical vibes” all the same.

Co-owner Paul Manley of High Tide Hospitality (which includes concepts Ace No. 3 and Sea Level NC) said the new location boasts a “gorgeous” three-season patio, complete with screens, heaters and fans to offer an indoor-outdoor feel.

For now, the menu will mirror the original Waterman offerings, although Manley said the staff will be keeping an eye out for local preferences in Lake Norman as time goes on.

That means you can expect to see The Waterman’s Boat Drinks cocktail program at the new spot, with drinks such as Topside Treasure, with Casamigos Blanco Tequila, Cointreau, lime, agave, a sea sugar rim and blue iceberg.

And, of course, there will be fresh seafood. At brunch, there’s a Lobster Bene and Creole Shrimp & Grits, while the all-day menu is packed with raw bar options like oysters and shrimp cocktail. Fresh catch entrees and fish camp favorites like fish n’ chips are included, too.

Hours will be limited for the first several weeks, with doors open Wednesday-Sunday, while staffing continues.

“We are finally there, and we’re confident and super excited to be there,” Manley said.
