Charlotte’s newest Sunday brunch spot is already one of your favorite restaurants
Show up for the monthly Drag Brunch, then stay for the vegan chicken and waffles.
This is what Sundays will look like in Midwood, now that Sister is joining Charlotte’s Sunday brunch scene.
Beginning April 10, Sister will launch Sunday brunch service with a Drag Brunch held the first Sunday of each month. The European all-day cafe, formerly Kiki Bistro, is located at the corner of Pecan and Central avenues, where Commonwealth meets Plaza Midwood.
Details:
- Brunch is from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Reservations are strongly encouraged (RSVP through sisterclt.com), and seating is first come, first served.
- The menu will include Sister’s current morning/lunch dishes plus new vegan chicken and waffles, made with battered and fried hen of the woods mushroom served on a vegan waffle.
On Sunday, April 10: Drag performer Kassandra Hylton, the reigning Miss Gay Latina Asheville, will perform twice, at noon and 2 p.m.
Sister is run by restaurateur Andy Kastanas, who with wife Lesa has been involved in Charlotte spots including Soul Gastrolounge, Mythos, Cosmos, The Diamond and CLTCH. Sister opened as Kiki Bistro in 2019 and then became Sister in January. The European cafe serves Greek and Eastern Mediterranean dishes from Kiki’s menu along with favorites from Soul Gastrolounge, which opened 13 years ago.
