And then there were two.

In the contest where we all win (because enjoying a good burger is always a good idea), you’ve helped us narrow down your list of 100 to the best two burgers in the Charlotte region.

In Charlotte, when we asked for your favorite burger served at a local restaurant, we knew we’d get some gold stars.

But y’all, the list you made even broke our brains — and we think about food all day, every day. We’re proud of our hamburger showing in Charlotte, North Carolina. You can get a quality cheeseburger at a walk-up window or at a white tablecloth restaurant, a drive-thru or a fast-casual joint. Our restaurants serve us chuck burgers, veggie burgers and even beef hamburgers topped with pork. And of course, is it even a Southern burger if it’s not topped with slaw? There’s truly something for every omnivore (and herbivore!) on this list.

It just so happens that May is National Burger Month, but that’s not even why we’re celebrating — we think burgers are a year-round favorite.

Vote for the best burger in the Charlotte area

We started with a poll listing the top 100 places you told us have the best burger served at a Charlotte-area restaurant — and yes, we include the ‘burbs because good food is worth the drive, no matter where you live!

• More than 23,000 votes were cast in Round One.
• In Round Two, where we invited you to vote among the Top 50 burger restaurants, more than 36,000 votes were tallied.
• In Round Three, more than 17,000 votes were cast.
• In Round Four, the Savory 12, more than 22,000 votes came in to determine the Great 8.
• In Round Five, the Great 8, more than 20,000 votes came in to determine the Final Four.
• In Round Six, The Final Four, 30,000+ votes determined the Top Two.

And here we are, at the final round. Voting will be live until Thursday at noon and will determine the winner!

Barcelona Burger & Beer Garden

Neighborhood: Merino Mill

The Barcelona Burger & Beer Garden in Mooresville has caught national attention for its take on the classic staple. Its burger — made from certified Angus beef — was ranked the best in all of North Carolina. Close your eyes and (almost) venture abroad with the Madrid, with American cheese, caramelized onion, roasted tomato and spicy pepper sauce.

Izzy’s at Triple C Brewing

Location: 2900 Griffith St, Charlotte, NC 28203

Neighborhood: South End

In Charlotte, we both love our burgers and love our craft breweries. And you can have it all at Izzy’s at Triple C Brewing. The Izzy Burger is a 3.5-ounce patty with Izzy sauce, shaved onion, shredded lettuce and white American cheese. Pair it with one of Triple C’s craft brews, such as the Three Little Birds Rice Lager or a Golden Boy Blonde Ale.
