8.2.0 Pizzeria & Bar rebrands, reopens as private event space with catering (yes, with pizza!)

8.2.0 Pizzeria & Bar has closed — but the space has quietly found a new life. Now, a rebrand of the sister concept to VBGB Beer Hall and Garden has been formally announced: It will serve as a private event space.

The Hamilton Event Spaces will offer five spaces, including a private karaoke room. But you’ll have to rent it to check it out — the venue will no longer be open to the public.

“Our goal was to convert 8.2.0 to an event-only space by the end of 2020, but then COVID happened. With the recent sale of the AvidXchange Music Factory, this is the perfect time to launch The Hamilton as we look forward to the area becoming a more thriving, upscale destination for all of Charlotte,” co-owner Kara Taddeo said.

Here are the details:

AN ELITE CLIENTELE: The space has been buzzing since summer. Celebrities and athletes such as Charlotte Hornets player Jeremy Lamb, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union have attended events there, as well as current and former Carolina Panthers players Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey. The Hamilton has also hosted team events, a filming of “20/20,” and a pre-concert Soul Chat with Alicia Keys.

THE FOOD: The Hamilton’s catering menu covers breakfast, lunch and dinner options that include a few old favorites. Appetizers returning from 8.2.0’s menu include its famous Cauliflower Crust Pizza. Sweet treats will include Bacon Bourbon Doughnut Holes, Strawberry Shortcake Parfaits and Caramel Cheesecake Parfaits.

THE SPACE: Multiple rental options allow for a big guest list. The full venue holds up to 480 people, the full event space holds up to 320, and the New York Room and Lounge each hold up to 120. Karaoke Avenue can hold up to 175 people and includes the Speakeasy, Karaoke Room and Sunflower Room. (Guests booking Karaoke Avenue can host add on a karaoke DJ, food and drinks to complete the vibe.)

PARKING: Parking is validated at the AvidXchange Music Factory for guests visiting The Hamilton or VBGB.
